Here is a little background information:
Ralph Juarez and son Zach are cycling from Modesto, California to the Lummi tribe 1,010 miles away in Washington State to raise scholarship money for the Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, which is the only accredited tribal college in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Ralph, who was adopted as a child, recently discovered his biological mother was part of a Native American tribe called the Lummis. After visiting Ralph wanted to do something to help the tribe so he along with son Zach will be cycling up to the Lummi Nation starting at May 31 raising scholarship funds for each mile they cycle to the Lummi Nation. This is the official blog which will follow the two as they bike up the west coast.
